Team-Building

Organizations need more than talent to be competitive. They need cohesive work groups within the organization in order to stimulate creativity, increase productivity, and allow for more and more cross-training of roles.

Our team building trainings allow your workers to build better relationships with one another, improve communication, and allow for further development of their collaboration and problem-solving skills.

Team building trainings are provided for:

  • newly formed teams -accelerate the forming process for your new team and give them a head start on their path towards success
  • teams encountering difficulties -our trainers are experts in human interaction and relational systems. They will challenge and support your team to see what is holding them back and how to fix it.

Trainings can be scheduled on or off-site to fit your needs.

Work-Life Balance

AHS understands the constant struggle to maintain a comfortable yet productive work-life balance.

Participants in this training will refine their own personal definition of what work-life balance is and develop a strategy for how to achieve it.

We look at external barriers as well as our own personal sabotaging behaviors that leave us feeling that our professional and personal lives are at odds. This is an excellent training to be used in conjunction with new hires, those returning from medical or personal leaves or just anyone who would like to live a better life.

Emotional Intelligence

Experts are noting the importance of Emotional Intelligence in the workplace. In short, EI is the ability to successfully use your own and others' emotions to help you make smart decisions throughout your various relationships - at home and at work.

By tapping into the emotional center of the brain we can successfully work with teams, groups and individuals to work smarter instead of just harder. Accessing emotional as well as cognitive functions, allows for increased time management, better teamwork, and increased productivity and leadership skills.

Diversity and Inclusion

AHS knows that organizations cannot embrace diversity or inclusion if they are not adequately equipped to do so. Only by giving your organization the tools it needs can you ensure that your workplace is one in which respect for differences is commonplace. This is an excellent training to include for new hires and as new projects/work teams are put in place.

Increasing awareness by addressing head-on the factors of race, gender, age, ethnicity, language, and disability we promote the idea of utilization of assets. By gathering all team member strengths, we find that more is possible together than by working individually.

Understanding and Managing Stress

Stress seems to have gotten a bad rap. TV News shows summarize the latest studies by laying blame for most everything at the feet of stress. The real danger is in dismissing it due to such overuse. Not only does this presentation teach how to avoid the dangers of stress and to manage stress, participants will learn how stress can actually be a positive force in their lives.

This interactive presentation walks participants through a cognitive approach to understanding the human reaction to stressful events. Causes of stress, indicators of stress and the dangers of ignoring stress are covered. Useful, practical exercises that can be utilized to reduce the negative symptoms of a stressful life will be provided. We will also look at our individual and cultual attitudes and how we react to stress as key factors in improving our daily wellness.

Substance Abuse: What We All Need to Know

The impact that drugs and alcohol can have on the workplace is profound. Once thought of as something that happened after hours and thus not a job-related factor, more and more organizations are paying attention to the signs and symptoms of impairment on the job and are providing education for their staff about prevention, as well as recognition and intervention as needed.

Trainings are available for both supervisors and employees regarding substance abuse and the workplace.
