Background & Career
|
Eunice was educated and trained as a psychotherapist both in
Korea and in the United States. Her personal and professional experiences
across the cultures motivated her to serve individuals of global citizenship
and international groups. Eunice is a certified sandplay therapist whose
ability to use symbols in a clinical process ensures clients' healing and
growth within.
For the past 10 years, Eunice has worked in California, USA
providing multicultural & multiracial populations with culturally
competent mental health services. She
has done extensive work with immigrant families and children, expatriates, international
students, interracial couples, and biracial/multiracial individuals. Besides doing conventional counseling and
consulting, she was actively involved in community psycho-education, crisis
intervention, debriefing services and preventive work in collaboration with
school districts, churches, and law enforcement as a response to a variety of
crises. As a clinical supervisor, Eunice also supervised a number of junior
clinicians and graduate students. She led supervision groups and presented
sandplay in professional circles.
As an Associate of
Adaptable Human Solutions Eunice
currently provides consulting and counseling services to individuals, couples
and families of diverse cultural backgrounds. She offers bilingual services
to families with Korean speaking parents but English speaking children.
Eunice specializes in working with children and adolescents who have experienced
emotional adjustment difficulties, trauma, developmental issues, life
transitions or loss. She loves utilizing expressive art therapy techniques
including sandplay therapy, dream work and storytelling.
